In my recent visit to Cairo Egypt, I saw a lot more motorcycles on the road then before. Things that we would find shocking in Canada were very common in Egypt. A father, mother, and two kids riding on one motorcycle? Sure no problem! Smoking and talking on the phone while riding? Sure! When I ride Im sure to wear my helmet, jacket, gloves and riding boots. Have to be protected in case of a crash. Well…
It has been waaaay too long since I last posted. Way too long. Things have been incredibly busy with wedding season having started. In between shoots, Ive just been spending my time editing the pictures. Im trying to cut down the time it takes me to edit a shoot. Some dont take long while others seem to take way too long. The ones that take longer I usually end up doing several iterations until I am satisfied with the final outcome. In photography news, Nikon has released the Nikon 50mm 1.8G. Very interesting lens. I havent tried it out yet, however reviews I have read said that it is an excellent lens. If choosing between the 1.8G and the 1.4G, I would go with the 1.8G. We currently use the Sigma 50mm 1.4 since when I tested the Sigma and Nikon 1.4g for about a month I felt the Sigma is better. So far it has been a useful lens.. The only issue I would say it has is the harsh CA. Why I would spend less money and grab the 1.8 is because you will find that you can rarely use 1.4 since it is a very shallow depth of field. It has very specific uses. So even with our 1.4 Sigma we find ourselves using atleast 1.8 aperture to get the subject in focus.
Alright so today is the first day of SUMMER! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and make us feel like its summer. Ofcourse one of the most common rituals of summer only behind having BBQs is getting the vehicles washed. So for todays pics the rides are ready for the sun… All shots taken with Nikon D700 24-70mm f2.8 Edited and sharpened using photoshop.
Im going to be trying something new. Every day I will post a wicked song for your hearing pleasure. This list is only of fantastic music. The best of its genre. Tried tested and true by ME.
The criteria to get on the list is simple, I have heard the song hundreds of times. If its a newer song then I will eventually hear it hundreds of times. I will be covering all genres from rap to Rock, so there will be something for everyone. Feel free to add comments here. The songs will be added to this page.
April 18, 2011 -- Method Man Ft Mary J Blige “All I Need”
Shorty I’m there for you anytime you need me
For real girl, it’s me in your world, believe me
Nuttin make a man feel better than a woman
Queen with a crown that be down for whatever
There are few things that’s forever, my lady
We can make war or make babies
Back when I was nothin
You made a brother feel like he was somethin
That’s why I’m with you to this day boo no frontin
Even when the skies were gray
You would rub me on my back and say “Baby it’ll be okay”
Now that’s real to a brother like me baby

Played a non-serious game of chess with my son. He set his pieces up himself. I got this chess board over 15 years ago when I was a kid. Its had its fair share of games. Id like to see a $20 chess board bought today last 5 years let alone 15!
Yesterday, the President of Egypt Hosni Mubarak announced that he is stepping down as President. It was POURING rain today, but that didn’t stop a group of people gathering around in downtown Vancouver to celebrate the outcome. What the future holds for Egypt is unclear and I pray that things will get better and the country will rise to its former glory. I do know one thing though, that I am very proud of the Egyptians in Egypt who stood their ground and made this happen. They united as a group and their voice was heard loud and clear.
Some info about myself. I was born in Cairo, Egypt and came to Canada with my parents at the age of seven.
